Trouble Shooting

  • Some pages within Function Point aren't displaying properly for me.
  • Make sure you have the most recent version of your preferred browser. The browsers that Function Point supports are current versions of IE Explorer, Firefox and Safari (for Mac).
    • Older versions of these browsers may not support some of the new pages within FP and may cause viewing issues.
  • I forgot my password and can't log-in.
  • Your company administrator has the ability to re-set your password for you. Please speak with him/her and have them re-set it to a temporary password through the Staff Administration area of the system.
  • I keep getting an error message saying I must disable pop-up blockers even though I have already disabled them in my browser.
  • Many add-ons, such as Google Toolbar, Yahoo and Norton Utilities have their own pop-up blockers. Ensure that all pop-up blockers have been disabled to allow pop-ups from calgary.functionpoint.com.
  • My system appears to be really slow whenever I log-in or when I navigate through the pages.
  • Often the problem is associated with too many windows being open, taking too much RAM.
  • Our tech support team can also help you determine the problem if you feel the cause is related to your internet connection.
    •   Slowdowns are usually associated with the routing of your Internet connection to our server in Toronto.  We can do a "Trace Route" test for you.
    • Please do the following:
      • Windows
        • Select Start>Run
        • Type "cmd"
        • Press "enter"
        • In the cmd box type tracert hosted.functionpoint.com > C:\fptraceroute.txt
          • (spacing and caps are necessary)
        • Press "enter"
        • If you go to your "C" drive there will be a txt file called fptraceroute.txt
        • E-mail the file C:\fptracroute.txt to support@functionpoint.com
      • Mac
        • In the finder select Go>Utilities
        • Open the "Terminal" application
        • Type traceroute hosted.functionpoint.com > ~/Desktop/fptraceroute.txt
          • (spacing and caps are necessary)
